Ms Edith Nakawesa

Director

Ms. Edith is the Director with a strong academic background, holding an MA in Gerontology from the University of Central Oklahoma, USA and a BA in Social Work and Social Administration. She is a Geriatric Social Worker with training in Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) Program with the American Heart Association. Her passion lies in studying the physical, mental, social, and biological changes that occur in the ageing population.

Edith firmly believes in promoting individuality, independence, and equality at all stages of life. She recognizes the prevalent issue of ageism in society, which often leads to the disengagement of older adults from receiving the care and support they deserve.
As the Director Edith Nakawesa is dedicated to addressing these challenges and advocating for the rights and well-being of older adults. Her commitment to combating ageism and promoting a society that values and respects seniors drives her work and initiatives.

Ms. Joy Nansubuga Kalyebara

Head Rehabilitation Department

Ms. Joy is a retired healthcare worker and psychosocial counselor with a Diploma in Health Sciences and a Diploma in Guidance and Counseling from Kyambogo University. With over 20 years of experience, including 18 years in psychosocial support counseling and 20+ years in nursing, she has a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

Ms. Kalyebara is deeply passionate about providing psychosocial support counseling to vulnerable women, adolescents, and the elderly. Her approach involves skills building through life-empowering training, counseling, and creative art therapy. Her commitment to making a difference led her to join the Essanyu Lya Mukadde Wange Foundation, where she continues to contribute her extensive experience and dedication to helping others

Ms. Nakintu Phoebe

Head Research & Strategy Department

Nakintu Phoebe is a dedicated individual with a Bachelor's degree in Arts in Economics and additional certifications in Gender Responsive Economic Policy Management in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic and Data Analytics. As the former Miss Buganda Tourism and Heritage 2018/19, she has shown a passion for cultural preservation and making a positive impact.

With experience as a Research and Strategy Assistant at URBRA, Nakintu brings strong research and strategic planning skills to her work. Currently volunteering with Essanyu Lyamukade Wange, she contributes to improving the livelihoods of seniors and their dependents in Uganda through the organization's focus on Health, Economic Empowerment, and Psycho-Social Support.

Nakintu Phoebe is driven by her passion for creating meaningful change and promoting a positive and healthy aging experience for seniors in Uganda.

Ms. Prisca Nakagiri

Ms. Prisca an enthusiastic individual with a Bachelor's degree in Education and a certificate in Customer Care, firmly believes in the transformative power of knowledge to enhance service delivery and reduce errors in the health and service provision sectors. As the Head of the Education and Training Department at Essanyu Lya Mukadde Wange Foundation, she is passionate about equipping seniors and caregivers with the necessary information for informed decision-making.

Prisca Nakagiri's unwavering commitment lies in making aging a fulfilling and meaningful journey through empowering education and exceptional service.

Mr. Jonah Kaggwe

Mr. Jonah is a professional photographer who specializes in capturing stories through his lens. With a passion for working with seniors, he finds joy in creating timeless memories. Jonah believes that a picture is worth a thousand words, and he excels at immortalizing the unique narratives of the elderly.

He brings their experiences to life through his artistry, crafting photographs that beautifully encapsulate their stories.

Ms Jackline Namaalwa

Head Quality Control Department

Ms. Jackline is an enthusiastic health worker with a Diploma in Medical Laboratory and a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science. With knowledge of the quality management system at Lancet Laboratories, she excels in providing top-notch lab services. However, Jackline's passion lies in the well-being of the elderly. As a compassionate laboratory technologist, she firmly believes that seniors deserve affordable access to the best lab services, considering the various health challenges that come with ageing. Her dream is to eliminate discrimination and ensure that seniors can easily access the vital services they need.
